Privacy Policy for App Script Saver™

Introduction

App Script Saver™ (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed and used when you install or use the App Script Saver™ Google Workspace Add-on (“the App”).

By using App Script Saver™, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information Accessed by the App

App Script Saver™ accesses only the minimum Google user data required to perform user-initiated actions. The App does not collect, store, or retain Google user data after the requested action is completed. Any data accessed during execution is processed in memory only and is automatically discarded immediately after execution. No user data is retained or later deleted, as no such data is stored beyond the immediate execution of a user-initiated action.

The App uses the following Google Workspace API scopes:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.projects

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_request

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email

Each scope is used as described below.

1. Google Account Information

The App accesses your Google account email address solely to identify the active user session and to support internal permission checks required by Google Workspace Add-on execution.

• We do not store, log, transmit, or share your email address.

• We do not use your email address for marketing, analytics, profiling, or tracking.

• Email access is limited to the duration of the active session and discarded immediately afterward.

2. Apps Script Project Access

The App uses the Google Apps Script Projects API to:

• Read metadata related to the currently open Apps Script project

• Create and save new versions of that project at the user’s explicit request

The App:

• Does not access other Google Drive files

• Does not read or store script source code outside the active operation

• Does not retain copies of user projects

• Does not delete projects or versions

All project actions are performed only in response to direct user interaction.

3. External Requests

The App may make outbound network requests (via script.external_request) only to services explicitly configured by the user (for example, exporting or sharing project data).

• No user data is transmitted automatically

• No background or unsolicited requests are made

• No user data is sold, shared, or reused for secondary purposes

4. User Interface Rendering

The App uses script.container.ui exclusively to display user interface elements (dialogs, sidebars, and menus) within the Google Apps Script editor or supported container environment.

No user data is collected through the UI beyond what is required to execute the selected action.

Information We Do Not Collect

App Script Saver™ does not:

• Collect or store Google Drive files or file contents

• Collect analytics, usage tracking, or behavioral data

• Access Google Docs™, Google Sheets™, or Google Slides™ conten

• Use cookies, trackers, or third-party analytics services

• Use user data to train AI or machine-learning models

How Information Is Used

Any information accessed by the App is used only to:

• Perform the specific user-requested operation (such as saving a project version)

• Display the App’s interface within Google Workspace

All accessed data is transient and discarded immediately after the operation completes or the user closes the interface.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share user information.

We do not disclose data accessed via Google Workspace APIs to third parties, except where explicitly initiated by the user.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data during execution.

However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted through Google services.

Compliance With Google API Policies

Our App use and transfer of data received from Google Workspace APIs to any other App adheres to the Google API Service User Data Policy including its Limited Use Requirements. 

Our App use of photos (if any) adheres to the Limited use of user data requirement of the Photos API User Data and Developer Policy (For Photos APIs.)

User data is accessed solely to provide the App’s core functionality and is not used for any other purpose.

Your Rights

You may:

• Revoke the App’s access at any time through your Google Account security settings

• Contact us to request information about this Privacy Policy or the App’s data practices

Third-Party Links

The App may include links to external websites for documentation or support purposes.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
